Chungo Creek Outfitters located a few hours from either Calgary or Edmonton in Alberta, Canada is a treasure for those fortunate enough to experience it. It’s deep into the great outdoors with total solitude and the very best mother nature has to offer. Summer months offers unique horseback experience to those who truly love the mountains and all its glory. It offers a range of temperatures and weather conditions typical of those temperamental mountains. There were frosty mornings to warm afternoons and back down again in the evenings. Daylight in the summer months is great as you arise to complete daylight and often we went to bed before dark. The horses are so well trained and level headed and the camp guides were wonderful as well. We felt total confidence in their abilities to direct us to some of the most spectacular scenery. We saw lakes with waterfowl one day, another day brought to mind the scene from the sound of music where Julie Andrews sings “the hills are alive with the sound of music”. Another day was glassing for the mountain sheep on the mountain peak across from us (with success in viewing several of them I might add). Also there was a day where we rode to see the most beautiful assortment of water falls and snow caps and glaciers. It was truly a trip of a lifetime and one not to be forgotten anytime soon.
