HUNTING WITH BLACKSTONE OUTFITTERS

I’ve been trying for months to submit a hunting report to send to Eastern Chapter FNAWS and I haven’t been
able to find the time.  So as the saying goes, here’s something short and sweet.
While attempting each year to draw a coveted Rocky or Desert Sheep tag, I’ve been working on my North
American 29.  This past September 2005 I went up to the Yukon Territory to hunt with Blackstone Outfitters.
This was my 3rd hunt with them over the years.  As usual, everything went well for myself and most of the
other hunters during my hunt.  (Whatever one does, you just can’t seem to please everybody.)  On the 2nd
day I spotted this gorgeous grizzly at a very long distance while we were out caribou hunting.  A couple of
hours later everything worked out perfect and found us a 200+ yards from an open tundra sleeping grizzly.
One shot and he was mine forever.  On day six we went out to hunt a different area quite a ways east of
base camp and I took this bull out of a herd of 30 Mountain caribou that held 7 bulls.  I can’t ever say enough
about the super staff of Blackstone Outfitters.  From the day you book a hunt until the day you depart for
home, they do they utmost to cover all details to maximize each hunter’s chance of success and safety.
Anyone who would like to talk to me in detail, is more then welcome to contact me.
