WINNERS CHOICE - DALL SHEEP HUNT
By Ryan Pittman Life Member #389
Hi Everybody, Hope all you hunters had a successful year. My Name is Ryan Pittman and I was the very
lucky Winner of the Kirk Ellis winners Choice for 2006. I chose to go for Dall sheep. I left Pennsylvania on
August 20th and flew to Anchorage Alaska. I drove 5 1/2 -6 Hours to Kirk Ellis place.

The weather was to bad to fly so we stayed at his place for the night and flew out the next day. I could not
shoot the day I flew but, the guide & I went scouting and with in 1 Hour we saw 5 or 6 legal Dall sheep. So we
pitched a 2 man tent at the base of the hill. After my sleepless night we got up & proceed to find the sheep.
They were where we left them the day before. We saw 2 sheep together one was around 40" the other was
around 37" that were not Broomed. We took off after them and they got out of our sight while we attempting
to climb the hill. When we saw them again they had joined up with 3 or 4 more sheep. I got a shot on the 37"
and dropped him with one shot. All this was within 2 hrs of the first legal morning I could hunt.

Kirk Ellis has a top notch setup. Food & lodging is excellent with plenty of game around. We saw plenty of
legal sheep and some big bull moose. I'm told that the area is the breeding grounds for moose and has been
for many years. If you are looking at a hunt in Alaska you need to check out Kirk Ellis - website:
